Chapter 1 Blind Date
Chapter 1 Blind Date
It was rare to have silence prevailed across the whole café. Allison lowered her head and was stirring
the coffee in front of her nervously. The situation was awkward and the air seemed to freeze.
“First time on a blind date?” The man asked blandly half minute after he settled into his seat. His aura NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
was too powerful that even a simple question made Allison more nervous.
Today was the first time Allison went on a blind date. Under her mother’s pressure and coercion, she
came to the café they had promised earlier reluctantly and found the seat specified. She initially
thought she only did it as a mere formality, yet she had not expected the man who sat opposite to her
was actually Alexander Parker, the executive president of the Parker Group and also the man who
influenced the whole J City!
What was worst was she had actually worked for the Parker Group as an office clerk in the
administration department. Therefore it was safe to say a great person like Alexander would not
recognize her, however it was too difficult for her to pretend she did not recognize him. She then
stuttered out of nervousness. “Y, Yes. It’s my first time…”
Alexander glanced at her from head to toe with a cold look and continued asking, “Have you graduated
from university?”
“Yes, I have.” Allison inevitably swallowed and added, “I’ve graduated for two years.”
Alexander fell into silence after he heard her reply. There was no emotion on his pretty face and he
seemed very composed. Yet Allison on the other hand was suffering intense apprehension at the
moment. She was wondering which divine had her mother worshipped that enabled her to get such a
top class candidate for a blind date on the one hand and wondering whether Alexander had sat at the
wrong spot on the other hand. Or was she the one who sat at the wrong place?
She caught a glimpse of the number sign on the table and it was indeed number 18. “Urhmm…Have
you sat at the wrong place?” She braced herself and asked. “Have you brought your household register
book?” Alexander asked. Both of them spoke and stopped at the same time. Allison lifted her head in
shock when she heard him.
Alexander’s nearly perfect face was upon reach which made Allison’s face flushed and her mind went
blank. His delicate face was way more attractive than those current popular actors yet due to the fact
that he was a businessman, the domineering aura from him made him looked unapproachable.
Allison had joined the Parker Group when she was in her internship and she stayed when her
internship was approved. It had been two years since she stayed, and during those two years, she had
rarely seen Alexander. She would only have a peek on his back whenever she saw him and because
she had met him face-to-face now, it felt more than a dream.
“Do you have any more questions?” Alexander glimpsed at Allison whose face had flushed and the
coldness in his eyes lessened. Allison shook her head as what question she could have against her
own boss? During that moment, Alexander’s phone rang. She saw him picking up the call and replied
curtly after a short period of silence. “Got it.” He then hung up the call, lifted his eyes and looked at her.
“Let’s go.” The way he stood up resembled how he spoke and worked, curt and determined.
As if being cast a spell, Allison stood up docilely and followed Alexander out of the café. Alexander’s
height was 1.9 meters while hers was 1.7 meters. Yet she appeared delicate and petite behind him.
She followed him into a car which was a black, business Maybach he often used.
Sitting inside such a luxurious car, Allison felt like she was sitting on a needle mat and was extremely
uncomfortable. She kept on twisting her fingers anxiously and questioned herself whether she was now
in a dream. Yet her reactions were all observed by Alexander.
“My family forced me to have a blind date and I don’t want to waste so much time on this matter. You’re
clean and comfortable to look at; therefore I have no problem marrying you.” Alexander spoke out of
the blue inside the quiet car. His attractive voice spanned around Allison’s ears.
Allison stared at him in surprise. Although she had gone for a blind date with him, she did not expect
herself to get married that sooner. “Don’t, don’t you need to make more considerations about that? We,
we seem to not…” Know each other yet. “No need.” Alexander interrupted. With an aloof aura
surrounded him, he continued with a domineering and firm attitude. “After you become my wife, I’ll give
you anything you want.”
What Allison did not know was that before she met him in the café, Alexander had known her very well.
