Diana was suddenly caught off guard by a face right in front of her. For a moment, she couldn't believe her eyes. Just a second ago, she thought she had it all together. It felt like she was in a dream-a dream that was both embarrassing and yet something she deeply longed for. She and Uncle Connor, finally together. But the instant cold water was splashed over her, the dream abruptly ended. Her scattered thoughts started to come together again. Diana was completely taken aback, like she had no clue what was happening. Barrett snapped back to reality too, his head pounding. Seeing Diana beneath him, clothes all over the place, a flash of panic and coldness crossed his eyes, "Why is it you?"
"These two have no shame, still caught up in their own world. Absolutely disgraceful," someone muttered. "Oh my, how did Diana end up like this? She was as pure as a lily, and now she's a little vixen," another whispered. "I can't watch this anymore; I'll probably get a sty in my eye tomorrow," someone else remarked.
The noise at the door drew their attention. Diana and Barrett turned their heads to see a bunch of faces peering in, all with looks of gossip, scorn, and disdain. Some were even recording on their phones. Diana caught a glimpse of herself in a nearby full-length mirror, barely covered, with Barrett lying on top of her, unclothed.
Diana finally snapped back to reality, realizing what had happened. A scream tore through the air. She screamed like she'd lost her mind. Barrett scrambled up, grabbing clothes off the floor, trying to dress in a hurry.
Diana kept screaming. The Sartori family's nanny, feeling sorry for her, took a thin blanket from the bed and covered her. But Diana, as if deeply shaken, kept screaming like crazy, her cries piercing through everyone's eardrums. Claire was beyond irritated.
