Chapter 1159: Finally reunited (2)
When the elders see each other, they only pretend not to know each other, or they turn red-eyed.
Now that they are reunited, Micaela has no intention of running away.
Without saying much, Nico looked at Micaela and Hud and said, “I’ll take you back.”
Micaela, with one arm around Hud and a couple of boxes in the other, said calmly, “No, I drove here.”
See, I wasn’t even giving her a chance to drive her home.
Nico had found out how much she hated him and how much she didn’t want to see him.
Micaela glared at him and said nonchalantly, “But since we know each other, let’s make an appointment to go to the Office of Civil Affairs. If we litigate for divorce, you and I are public figures, all hell will break loose and everyone will lose face. Since we didn’t have a wedding in the first place, let’s pretend it didn’t exist, a secret divorce is the best way to go.”
She was talking about the divorce as if she had never felt anything for him, as if she was negotiating a deal, getting him in and out of the way and giving him the benefit of the doubt so he wouldn’t have anything to say.
But how was Nico going to pretend he wasn’t married to her?
So many entanglements, so heavy with obsession, Nico didn’t want to let it go.
“There are so many divorce matters and so many property divisions to be done that I have my lawyer…”
Nico excused himself nonchalantly, but before he could finish his sentence, Micaela had already coldly interrupted, “No, when we got the license, our property was not commingled, yours is still yours, I don’t want it. I don’t want it. If you want to sue me for my physical infidelity and need me to indemnify you, I have nothing to say. It’s true that I was at fault in that incident, so I admit it, and Mr. Nico can also make an offer for whatever he wants.”
Nico looked at her, cold and unfeeling, but he couldn’t feel resentment towards her.
He had caused her to become what she was, and it was a debt, he acknowledged.
The stalemate between the two men continued.
Nico finally exhaled, stepped back, pulled at the corners of his lips and said as calmly and softly as he could, “Even if we don’t do a division of assets, you still have a lot of divorce issues to discuss with me, come on, I’ll drive you home, there are too many people here and it’s not the right place to talk, I know you don’t want to see me specifically, but if you want a divorce, you need to see me, so why don’t we talk about it in the car while we drive you home, sure.”
It was an offer Micaela couldn’t refuse and she said yes.
Hud got into the back seat and Micaela was about to follow him when Nico opened the passenger door and said with a slight frown and a sullen scowl, “Sit up front if you’re going to talk business and, by the way, I don’t chauffeur.”
The tone was overbearing and unquestioning.
She knew Nico had always been arrogant and overbearing, and all along the way he was just trying to keep his temper down and be as gentle as possible, but a man with the nature of a tiger is a bloodthirsty man after all, and Nico was never one to be easily talked to or dealt with.
Micaela gritted her back teeth and reluctantly climbed into the passenger side.
The black Rolls-Royce Phantom, cruising quietly down the road, was going much slower than usual.
Nico looked at her with deep eyes, then at the foreign child in the back seat, his thin lips curved downward as he asked, “You haven’t had this child with a foreign man, have you?”
“…” Micaela’s heart fluttered with emotion at these words, suppressing her anger but saying, “So what if he is?”
Nico’s eyes slanted with a mocking smile, “If it is, I’m afraid you can’t afford a divorce. Do you know it’s a very serious crime to cheat in marriage and have another man’s child?”
Micaela’s eyes turned to look at him with annoyance, but when she caught the smile in the corner of his eyes, she realized he was just pulling her leg.
Micaela sank her anger, swallowed her throat, and asked, “What exactly do you want?”
But Nico Man didn’t answer the question, “This child, did you adopt him?”
“What do you care?”
“He looks quite leathery. But at first glance he’s no relation to you, so what do you gain by lying to me?”
Micaela clenched her fist, unable to stand it, “Nico, say clearly, how much severance pay do you want before you get divorced?”
She didn’t want to be here to spite her family.
“What I want, I’m afraid you can’t give it.” The man’s eyes, slightly narrowed with a forced, sly light in them, said, “I want you.”
“…”
Nico said nonchalantly, “I know you can’t afford it, so I won’t push you, but this divorce thing, it’s not something you can just leave just like that, we haven’t settled accounts from two years ago, I’m not willing to leave it like that.”
“What do you want?”
“I haven’t thought about it yet, I’ll get back to you when I know how, there’s no rush. But if you’re in a hurry to see me, feel free to call me.”
The lavish, flirtatious tone of voice was clearly intended to provoke her.
There is no better word for it than shameless.
The black Rolls-Royce Phantom, parked steadily in front of the entrance to the Bayside neighborhood.
Micaela raised her hand and slapped him across the face.
The slap was hard and red marks quickly appeared on Nico’s face as it was deflected.
The man’s face was downcast, with a slight curve at the corner of his lips.
Ease the hate, Micaela.
Micaela said in one word, “Nico, do you want to settle the score from two years ago? This is just the beginning, I’ll settle it with you little by little, you don’t have to rush. As for the divorce, since you can’t settle it privately, then sue for divorce, you’ll get the demand soon.”
With that, Micaela opened the door and was about to get out of the car when Nico grabbed her wrist.
Micaela was forced to turn around and meet him face to face.
Nico said, “You can divorce me if you want, stay with me for a month and I’ll agree to a divorce.”
Micaela stood up with contempt, “You, dream, dream.”ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Hud, we’re getting off.”
Micaela pulled Hud and stepped into the small area.
Nico looked at the distant figure and reached out to touch the face she had just struck, which still seemed to have the warmth of her palm on it.
Between a peaceful divorce and an infuriating entanglement, Nico decidedly chose the latter.
If you piss her off, at least you can still be entangled, but if you divorce peacefully, you really won’t see her again, will you?
Nico pulled out his phone, called Campoverde and said with a grimace, “From now on, whatever Walking Media does, we’ll take it.”
Campoverde hesitated, “But Mr. Nico, didn’t you say that Walking Media is your wife’s company and that we must protect it? If we steal the wife’s business, will we bother her?”.
“Do as you’re told.”
“… It is, Mr. Nico.”
Nico’s tone was so strong that Campoverde was too confused to speculate, but he dared, and did as he was told.
After Nico hung up the phone and leaned back in his seat, Savanna closed her eyes.
Better to be rivals and fight each other than go through the clouds.
She can accept anything, being Micaela’s lover, rival or enemy, but being a bystander is something she can’t do.
Nico thought to himself, “Maybe it’s the best gift of fate to meet a partner on a narrow path and fight it out.
At least there is still a relationship with her, there.
