Deadly Storm

Epilogue

Sarah's POV

The sound of beeping filled my ears. It really did sound annoying and I wanted it to stop. Prying my mouth open to talk or make a sound, but my mouth felt dry like sand.

Moving my hand a centimetre it failed. I feel paralyzed.

Pain shoots up from my waist, hissing. Once the pain settled down I finally opened my eyes, which are adjusting to the bright light.

The beeping continued.

My eyes soaks in the room. The white cream walls, a black chair with a dark, dark green cushion, a window to my right. My eyes landed on the source of beeping. A machine beside my bedside is attached to me. Glancing down at the IV bag, I realize that I'm in a hospital.

I try sitting up but once again, pain shot through my belly where I was stabbed. Lifting up the blanket, the greyish blue gown covered my body. Carefully lifting up the gown, a massive white bandage across my stomach where I was stabbed by Jason. My skin is red around the bandage.

I hear the door open and I'm instantly looking in the direction. Sabe walks in along with Lennix and Kathrine.

A smile creeps on my face. I'm happy to see them. The one thing that didn't bring me happiness is when I can sense something is different.

"You're up! Let me grab a doctor," Lennix says as he steps outside.

"It's great you're up," Kathrine replies.

In walks in Blade, Keir, Raul and Victoria. "How're you feeling?" Raul asks.

"Sore." My voice is hoarse from the dryness. Keir somehow has water and give it to me. I take a drink feeling the warm liquid rub down my dry throat.

Clearing my throat I thanked him. I set the water on the table beside my bed.

"I called your mother. She should be here soon."

"Thanks."

Everyone is here, except for my father. "Where's dad?"

They glance at each other with nervous looks. It's like they're telling each other, with eye contact, who should tell me.

I give them, "someone tell me what's going on," look.

After sharing glances, they all turn their heads towards Blade.

"Really? I have to tell her? Why am I always giving bad news."

When he mentioned bad news, I knew something happened. Deep down something I don't want to hear.

He sighs and steps forward. "Look, Sarah. Before I tell you, I just want to say that we lost a lot of good people, both vamps and hunters. We won but it's not the same. I'm sorry to say, but . . . I'm so, very sorry for your loss. He died along with other great hunters."

"Like bitten died?"

"I wish that was the case."

Tears welled up. I couldn't hold them back as they streamed down my face.

My father gone.

All he wanted for me to do was become one of them. I loved him, more than ever.

I felt strong arms wrap around me, curling me into a hug. I didn't bother looking at who it is. I just needed a hug right then and there.

"I'm sorry Sarah," Kathrine spoke.

I feel her close to me. I feel everyone so close to me, yet so, far, away.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

I couldn't sleep that night. Thinking how I lost my father. Even though he was always busy, I still loved him. He cared for me all my life.

After my little meltdown, I finally calmed down and that's when my mom came. She asked the regular questions, like, "are you okay darling," or, "are you hurt?"

I also found out that there's no more Vanett blood on earth.

Another shocking thing I found is all three of my friends are vampires and are living with the others. According to them, and what Jason said while explaining the whole thing, that they are joining the Tandler group.

Which is great for them but now I'm truly alone. At first I thought they could visit me or vice versa, but no. After what happened here, the Tandlers will be moving away for a while to "recover". So they'll be gone.

Some good news is is that I convinced my mom to move back in the house. She did talk to me about moving with her in New York, but I declined.

My plan is now is to fulfill my fathers' dream for me to become a hunter. After everything he did, I will continue on in his name.

I'll do just about everything I can to continue the family line of hunters.

For the rest of the year after the war against the vampires and hunters, and the Vanetts, everything felt the same once again. A couple weeks afterwards, my fathers funeral took place, along with all the people and vamps who partaken.

A lot of people showed, basically the whole town, along with other family members who don't live in Cooperstown. Everyone got along, even with the vamps.

Not long after the funeral, the Tandlers and my friends left somewhere in the world. They wouldn't tell me where they'll be going but away from here. They also said they wouldn't keep in touch so at that very moment, it was the last time I've seen them all.

I graduated a year later to train to become a hunter like my father did. The only thing is that I'm not the leader.

I don't know who it is but we'll find out soon. In the meantime, I've got my fathers' hunters who did survive teach me all the ways.

Also, I got my hair dyed all brown. So now I'm a brunette and not an inch of blonde in me. Lauren also visited a few times for the holidays to visit. It's good to see her again.

I feel happy now that everything's has passed.

Now what the future holds, no one knows.
