Crossing Paths With The White Wolf

Chapter 92

Kassie

POV

** 4 months later **

"Maybe we should have waited until after the baby was born. Look at me, I'm a whale." I said, looking down at my big belly. It had been fine and well until last week, when I felt like my stomach had grown overnight. Thank goddess Adrien had the mind to grab something that would accommodate my stomach in any size.

"Woman, his jaw is going to drop. You are drop dead gorgeous. We knocked this one out of the park, if I do say so myself." He said as he pushed me in front of the mirror. I guess it was a perk that he had been paired with the god of the arts because he had somehow managed to make me look....beautiful. The dress was a slightly crimped chiffon material. It started maroon at the top and transitioned into a beautiful violet before transitioning back to maroon. It was sheer from the knees down. What I loved were the sleeves. They were as long as the dress, flowing loosely down my arms and with a strip of gold embroidery stitched down the length. They made me feel like a Greek goddess.

Aztec - Mayahuel sneezed humorously. Right. It made me feel like an Aztec goddess. The top of the dress was adorned with gold stars in an asymmetrical pattern. There was a golden rope that wrapped under the breasts. The original design had it wrapping down to the hips. Adrien had altered it to wrap under my swollen breasts. More golden embroidery divided the were the layers of the dress changed from full coverage to sheer. I was wearing golden earrings and a small tiara that matched the stars on the dress. He had also insisted on doing my makeup and I had to admit the smoky purples and reds brought out my violet eyes.

"I have to pee," I said as I took one final look at the final result of Adrien's hard work. I walked as rapidly as I could into the bathroom and took a deep breath. I'd been having small contractions all morning but there was nothing, not even this temperamental child stopping me from becoming Lalo's wife today. I sat down on the toilet just in time to feel a sudden gush of liquid spill into the toilet. s**t. I think that was my water breaking. "Listen here little baby. I will make you a deal. You can keep me awake for days and nights and I won't b***h at you if you let me get married in the next hour." I compromised with my bump. I took the lack of contraction as agreement and went back out into the foyer.

Adrien and Elias and little Sam were waiting for me. The music began and Elias led my little flower girl towards the front. I looked at Adrien who was already tearing up. "Adrien, get your s**t together because if I start crying, I'm going to beat you up." I warned him. "It's not all about you, you know. It's not every day mom and dad get married." He snapped as he cleaned up his face and held out his arm for me to take as the bridal music started. All of my nerves went away as I saw Gonzalo, my Lalo, waiting for me at the end of the walkway. Everyone chuckled a little as my steps got a little quicker, but I paid them no mind. It was just him and I. It took 200 years for us to get here and it was worth every tear, every pain and every heartache. I could feel his love through our bond and it was so intense. It could only be matched by the love I felt for him. I saw a few stray tears drop from his mismatched eyes as I reached him. Mayahuel was purring non-stop in the back of my mind when she noticed Dario had come forward and I let her forward as well, so we could share this moment with our mates.

The ceremony was a blur, mostly because I could feel the contractions slowly increasing in its intensity and I was making an effort to not show the pain. Once we said our I do's, Gonzalo leaned in to kiss me and whispered. "Are you OK?" "Just kicks." I lied. We moved onward to the photos by the river, but in the middle of the photos, I was hit by a contraction that made me bend forward.

"Kassie?" Gonzalo asked as he held onto me as I breathed through the pain.

"Umm, so we should probably start heading over to the hospital. I am in labor." I said.

"In Labor? Dr Castle!" Gonzalo yelled. Dr Castle came forward from the crowd.

"She's in labor. Fix it!" Gonzalo said, panicking, and I snorted.

"How far apart are your contractions, dear?" Dr. Castle asked.

"5 minutes, give or take?" I said sheepishly.

"That's close, has your water broken?" He asked, eyeing my bump.

"Before the ceremony started," I mumbled without looking at anyone in the eye as I felt the blush creep up my cheeks.

"Well, I think we're almost there then. Shall we head to the hospital?" He asked.

"Hospital, right. Let's go. Helios meet us there. I'M HAVING A BABY!" Gonzalo yelled before picking up Dr Castle in his arms and off he went, using his speed as he rushed off to the hospital. Except you know...I was still here.

Everyone started laughing and I waited to see how long it would take him to figure it out. "Adrien, can you grab my bag by the door of our suite and meet us at the hospital?" I asked as we all continued to wait.

"Of course...just as soon as....ah there he is." Adrien grinned as we saw Gonzalo speeding back our way, his face beet red. I felt thunder and the sky was getting darker. Gonzalo stopped in front of me and before he could grab me and whisk me away, I grabbed hold of his face.

"Breathe, my loves. You're going to make it rain," I said, looking up at the sky. Gonzalo took a few deep breathes and the setting sun peeked over the clouds as they dispersed.

Gonzalo picked me up in his arms and before he left he turned to the crowd. "Drink and celebrate. WE'RE HAVING A BABY!" He yelled before he ran us over to the Crescent Moon Hospital.

It didn't take long for our little bundle to arrive after that and I received my lecture about not telling anyone I was in labor like a champ, though I did stick my tongue out at Gonzalo after he was done. What was he going to do? Leave me? He was tied to me in every possible way. Dudes were stuck with us now.

After a bit of rest, our family and friends entered to see us. I gave the baby to Gonzalo so he could carry it to the other side of the bed for them to meet. "Everyone, can I introduce Miguel Gonzalo Guerrero." He said as our family swarmed him.

I looked on as everyone celebrated in the room with a smile on my face. Dr Castle just shook his head and left. He knew when the battle was lost. This moment was such a contrast from how my life used to be and how my life was now. We were finally going to have a period of peace. Yes, we had the warning from the seer in Italy, but we had 50 years to worry about it. We had begun looking for Helios' siblings already but that was going to be a long and steady search. I was looking forward to growing my family and seeing them grow up alongside all of the people I loved the most.

Karissa and I exchange a few emails a month. I am still not fully ready to open up my life to her, but we were working towards it.

Gonzalo came and sat by my side as they passed our baby boy around. "I love you so much" he said as he took my hand and kissed its palm. I smirked, "You better. I'm not going anywhere." The End.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
