It was a sports centre. My heart pounded faster when I realised he took me to an lor rink.

He gently pushed me to go in.

A man greeted us.

“Mr. Sullivan?”

He nodded and pulled me closer to him.

“Mr. Brown, this is my wife, Alice.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Sullivan. Please follow me.”

We followed him and found the ice rink. Seeing the ice gave me a feeling of relief that I hadn’t felt in a long time.

“Mr. and Mrs Sullivan, take your

Then he left. I looked around and there was no

k is yours for an hour today, then I’ll rent a place for you whenever you want and as long as you want.”

I was in disbelief. I remembered Lily’s advice, but this time, I felt like I had to speak.

“Why? Why do you do this to me?” I frowned while I looked at him.

He looked at me with an earnest face first, and he stayed quiet for a few seconds, just looking into my eyes.

Then he looked away.

“I agreed to finance you in figure skating. I’m just keeping my promise.”

I looked at him, and when he looked back into my eyes, I felt something, but that wasn’t gratitude or sympathy, that was something else that I never felt before.

I quickly pushed these thoughts away. I thought there wouldn’t be anything more pathetic, then fall for a criminal, my murderer.

“Do you want to go on the ice?”

His voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I took a deep b

breath and shook my head.

He looked at it and nodded, then took his phone out of his pocket and called a number. He told the other person we need suitable clothing, and be told him my size, then hung up.

In about five minutes, the same man appeared with a few bags and he told me where I could find the changing rooms.

When I finally was alone, I sat down. I just watched the ceiling for a little while. I felt weighed down by my thoughts and emotions, but I realized it was just a game and I was the only one who lost,

I sat there for a few minutes, when I remembered he paid for me to be here, so I changed my clothes and rushed back. He sat on the bench, and he smiled when I got back. He gave me the bag with my new ice skates. I took them out, and I started the procedure by massaging my feet.

What are you doing?”

He asked. I smiled.

“The skates are new. I have to break them in.”

He looked surprised.

“Does it take a long time? Is that going to hurt?”

I shook my head.

“These ice skates should he really comly, I don’t think it’s going to hurt, but I need a little time to get used to them.”

Okay.

He watched me with interest. Finally, I could put them on. I made a few movements, little jumps and squats before I stepped on the ice. Honestly, to be on it never felt that good.

I started. First side to side, I tried to move my feet as much as I could, to feel if the ice skates were still comfortable in each movement. When I felt that okay, I started with my favourite movements, jumps…

After warming up, I started with a single toe loop. I repeated it a few times, then I moved on single lutz and single flips, and dad single salchows. For now, I only repeated them. I didn’t want to try hard jumps, especially not quads. Even if the skates were okay, and they didn’t hurt me at all, I wanted to be careful. I didn’t want to fall.

I moved on to spins. It really surprised me how comfortable the skates were, and they kept my feet well, so I tried camel and sit spins, and also risked a Jay–back one.

It felt so nice. I didn’t really want to stop. To be on the ice again made me forget about my situation.

I only thought about what should I do. I didn’t want to accept him paying a lot for my hubby at first, but then I changed my mind. If he could take advantage of my life, then that was the least he could do for me in exchange. I decided there and then, I would come every day, and I wouldn’t care how much it costs for him. And if I was lucky enough, I would escape from here, back to a normal life.

Gideon

I watched her in a daze. After seeing those videos of her, I knew she was just trying to get used to her new skates. She could do much more than this. But whilst I watched her, I was thinking of my problems, which were so much more difficult. I never thought I had that in me. I had to admit that I felt

for her.

Every single move of her amazed me. She was beautiful in every way. I wanted her. I wanted to feel her under me, pleasing her till she was trembling in pleasure and panting my name.

The worst was in this situation that I could do that, I could do that any time, like my father said, but I only wanted that if she wanted that too.

I knew that her nature differed from what she showed us. I saw enough.

Since I found out she was a figure skater, I couldn’t stop watching those videos, and I knew she just held herself back. Alice had her own will, and she was strong–headed. She was a fighter, and probably a survivor, too. She wasn’t quiet at all, and she answered the sport reporters‘ questions confidently.

What I started, I couldn’t stop at this point. I knew we had got Riccardo’s attention already. She was a buit; she was here to die, or worse. I made a stupid step that I couldn’t undo.

I forced myself to come back to Earth, and not to let this feeling ruin my plan. I’ve never been in love. To feel in the world 1 live in wasn’t a clever thing at all. The first person who I wanted to be saved was Gemma, Even if she annoyed me in the last few days, I wouldn’t have taken that if she would have got harmed because of me.

When I looked up, Alice looked at me from behind the paling, still on the ice. Somehow, she looked happier,

“I’m guessing my time is up.”

I looked at my phone to check the time.

“Yes, in five minutes.”

She nodded and came off of the ice. She put the covers on the blades before she stepped on the ground and she took the ice skates off.

“So, how are they?”

She looked at me, and I got the first ever honest smile of hers.

“They are perfect.”

“Don’t they hurt your feet?”

“No, not even a bit.”

I nodded with a smile.

“Do you want to come for training tomorrow?

“Can 17”

“Of course, I told you, I just have to let them know.”

“Yes, then.”

“Same time?”

“Yes, but… could it be longer?”

“You can stay as long as you want. You just have to tell them when you finished.”

She smiled again.

“Perfect. Thank you.”

“You welcome, Alice.”

Apparently, my words surprised her, but she moved her attention to her shoes. When she was ready, I talked to the manager, and we agreed. The extra time, and that she could come anytime, cost me a lot, but I didn’t mind at all.

When we finally sat in the car, she looked at me again.
