Chasing The Rejected Luna's Heart (Clara and Liam)

"What do you mean leaving?" She questioned as she got closer and stared into my eyes.

"Clara..."

"Don't you dare Clara me. You always do this to me! Push me away when things get rough! I thought we were a team!" She screamed as tears rolled down her cheeks and I sighed then tried to reach out for her but she moved away.

"Why are you making things difficult, Clara? You know that things are getting rough. I mean you're getting targeted now. I cannot risk you getting hurt" I tried to explain to her but I could already see the stubborn line on her forehead.

"I can take care of myself by your side" She argued and I smiled.

"I don't doubt that but I won't risk your safety and especially not our children's safety" I told her and she frowned.

"Damon..."

"There's no room for argument, Clara. I've already made up my mind so prepare to leave tonight" I said to her with finality in my voice and she pouted.

"You don't get to decide for me. I'm not leaving, you cannot make me" She uttered stubbornly and I sighed.

"Leave, I want to speak to my wife alone" I told everyone without taking my eyes off Clara.

As soon as everyone was gone, I grabbed onto her face just as she broke out sobbing.

"You always do this to me. Why?" She muttered as she cried on my chest and my heart broke seeing her this way but no matter how much I wanted to keep her by my side, it was obvious I couldn't because I couldn't fight and keep her safe at the same time.

"Please understand where I'm coming from, my love. I just want to protect you" I murmured and she frowned. "Then who's going to protect you?" She questioned and my heart broke when I heard the crack in her voice.

"I won't die without seeing our children, Clara. Plus, I can't stand the idea of being away from you so I'll make sure I don't get killed and when everything is done and over with, I'll come get you and we'll go far away for a while. Just the two of us, doesn't that sound good?" I questioned softly and she nodded.

“It sounds like a dream” She replied and I smiled.

"It will be a reality soon enough" I replied before placing a kiss on the tip of her nose.

"Where am I going?" She questioned after I pulled away and I heaved a sigh of relief knowing I had finally gotten to her.

"It's a place that only Luca and I know about. We'll be the ones to drop you off tonight" I told her and she sighed.

"How long do I have to stay without you?" She questioned and I smiled.

"I'll make sure I end this quickly so I can run back to you as fast as I can" I murmured and she sighed. Before grabbing the rim of my pants. "Make love to me before we leave" She stated and I grinned.

"You don't have to say it twice, baby" I murmured and she shrieked as I lifted her in my arms and carried her up to the room and had my fill of her over and over again till both our bodies couldn't take it anymore.

It didn't take long for the sky to get

"It's getting late but I don't want to let you go" I said truthfully as I tightened my arms around her with my nose buried in her neck. "Then Don't" She uttered and I sighed. If only it was that simple.

"We need to leave now because we need to get there before dawn. It's quite far" I said to her and she sighed but said nothing else.

After laying there for a few minutes, we got up and got dressed to leave. Heading down, Luca was already waiting for us by the door.

"Her things have already been

loaded into the car. Can I speak to

you privately, Alpha?" He uttered and I raised an eyebrow. The only time Luca asked to speak to me in private when Clara was standing in front of me was if it involved her.

"Can you go wait in the car? We'll be there soon" I said to Clara as I placed my hand on her back and she rolled her eyes.

"Go on and continue keeping things from me. I don't even care anymore" She muttered then hurriedly walked away before I could stop her.

I let out a sigh as Luca walked up to me.

"This better be worth making her angry over" I said to him and he nodded.

"Earlier when I went to get Clara, I

heard her speaking to someone on the phone but before I could hear clearly, she hung up probably

coming so I checked her phone and this was the last number she called" He uttered then brought out the phone from his back pocket and handed it to me.

"It's her uncle's" As soon as he said that, I squeezed the phone so hard that I almost shattered it.

"Why is she so fucking stubborn?" I questioned through clenched teeth and he sighed.

"She's just trying to help because she's worried about you" He uttered and I sighed because I knew he was right but still.

"Tighten the security around the safe house. I don't want her running off to meet her uncle" I uttered and he nodded before bringing out his phone and making some calls.

I walked out of the house and found Clara leaning against the car with a frown and as much as I wanted to scold her for calling her uncle, I didn't want to make her more upset than she already was.

I walked up to her and even though I was standing in front of her, she pretended not to see me.

"Ignoring me won't make me go away little devil" I murmured with a smirk and tried to kiss her but she turned her head away.

"Well you will be leaving me soon so it doesn't matter, does it?" She questioned and I sighed before pulling her close.

"Give me one week. I'll handle everything in one week and come get you" I told her and as soon as she stared up at me with hopeful eyes, my heart melted.

"You promise?" She questioned softly and I nodded.

"I promise" I replied and that beautiful smile I loved so much appeared on her face.

"Then I'll count down the days till I see you again and if you don't come get me after one week then I'll come get you no matter where you are"...
