CEO's Substitute Bride

Chapter 387

Chapter 387

Hazel touched her arm and said. "I am not used to the way you both address each other now. Miss Moore, Mr. Lawrence. . ."

She shook her head. "How dramatic it is! I don't even dare to act like this in a TV series."

Alyssa could not help laughing and said, "It is nothing. Mr. Lawrence and I are no different from strangers to begin with."

Hazel recalled Alyssa saying that Emmett was very smart.

"Emmett is not only smart. He is so smart that he does not look like a human." Hazel did not want to talk to Alyssa about Emmett anymore. She changed the topic. "I have some pictures of the past. They are proof of your life in the past. I will send them to you later to see if you can remember what happened in the past."

"Okay." Alyssa nodded, "Thank you."

"What are you thanking me for? We have known each other for so many years." Hazel shook the car keys in her hand, "You really don't want me to give you a ride?"

Alyssa shook her head. "No need. You should leave quickly."

Alyssa did not let Hazel send her off, so Hazel could only leave first.

When Hazel's car drove away, Alyssa then called a taxi.

She originally wanted to go straight back, but there was a traffic jam on the way. The driver changed his route halfway. Alyssa therefore had to pass Sampson's psychological treatment clinic on the way.

Alyssa got out of the car right at the door of the clinic.

The moment she entered, the receptionist asked with a smile on her face. "Hello, do you have an appointment?"

"No, I'm here to look for someone." Alyssa looked inside after she finished speaking.

This was her first time coming to Sampson's psychological clinic. It was decorated very warmly. It was the same style as the renovation at home. It also looked very new.

The receptionist was stunned for a moment and quickly asked politely, "Then who are you looking for?"

Alyssa said, "Sampson West."

The receptionist's eyes changed subtly. She could not help but involuntarily sized Alyssa up. "You are looking for Doctor White? May I ask your surname?"

Although the receptionist asked in a calm and polite manner, her tone was full of inquiry and doubt.

Alyssa had heard Sampson mention before that his clinic was very small. He even asked her to come to him, if she had nothing to do.

Now it seemed that Sampson was rather busy. She needed to make an appointment to see him.

"If he is very busy, then forget it. Anyway, there is nothing urgent." She just came to see him on the way. Since Sampson was busy, she could not stay any longer and bother him.

The receptionist did not say anything when she heard that.

The receptionist did not say anything when she heard that.

At this time, there was a sound of footsteps coming from inside, accompanied by the sound of conversation.

Alyssa turned her head and saw Sampson and two other people walking out from inside.

Beside him was a middle-aged woman, and beside the middle-aged woman was a teenage boy.

It was probably the parent who brought the child to see the psychologist.

When Sampson looked up and saw Alyssa, he was obviously stunned. He said something to the parent and asked his assistant to send her out. Then, he strode towards Alyssa.

Sampson walked up to her and asked with concern, "Why did you suddenly come to me? What happened?"

The receptionist was stunned when she saw Sampson's concerned look.

Was not the young and successful Dr. White single?

Without waiting for Alyssa to speak, Sampson put his arm around her shoulder. "Let's go inside."

Alyssa was not used to him being like this. Once she entered his office, she stepped back and took his arm off her shoulder.

Sampson did not mind and poured her a cup of warm water.

"Thank you." Alyssa took the water. "I was just passing by. I just came to take a look."

Sampson asked casually. "Where did you go?"

"I went out to have dinner with a friend." What she said was half true.

Alyssa did not have any friends now, so Sampson guessed right. "Do you go out with Miss Hazel?”

Alyssa nodded. "Yes."

She reached out and held the cup of water. Her fingers moved around the cup as if she wanted to say something but did not want to.

Sampson paid close attention to her quietly. In front of people she trusted, Alyssa was not able to lie, nor could she hide her emotions.

Sampson sat down opposite her and asked in a relaxed tone. “Did you guys just eat? Did you not go shopping? Did you guys meet any paparazzi this time?"

Alyssa had told him about the incident when they met paparazzi the last time they went shopping.

Alyssa thought about it before speaking out, "Sampson, did you and Mr. Lawrence know each other before?"

Sampson's expression paused and asked, "Did anyone come to you?"

He asked so straightforwardly and Alyssa did not know what to say.

He looked very frank.

Alyssa felt that her suspicion towards him was actually a little petty.

Sampson saw that she did not speak and said very seriously, "It was Miss Hazel who said something to you, right?"

Alyssa pursed her lips and said. "She did tell me some things."

Sampson seemed to have expected this. Without questioning closely what they had talked, he just asked, "Do you believe her?"

"I don't think she lied to me." Alyssa believed Hazel.

"That's good." Sampson smiled. "Since you think you can trust her, Miss Hazel is naturally trustworthy."

Sampson's words made Alyssa even more confused.

She felt that the way she interacted with Sampson did not seem like an unmarried couple, but more like

intimate friends.

They lived together like shared roommates. Naturally, there was nothing ambiguous about their daily interactions.

Alyssa hesitated and asked the question in her heart, "Did we really get engaged before?"

When Sampson heard this, his expression became much more indifferent. His tone was unusually playful, which was rare. "Do you think we look like an unmarried couple?"

Alyssa shook her head. "No."

Sampson suddenly laughed when he heard her.

After that, he stood up and asked Alyssa, "Do you want to go home with me later? Or, do you want to go home now? If you want to go now, I can call a car for you."

Alyssa naturally could tell that he changed the topic so simply and roughly.

He must have hidden something from her.

Sampson was the first person she saw after she woke up from coma.

To her now, Sampson should be the person she was most familiar with.

However, she vaguely felt that Sampson was the most complicated person.

Sampson patted her shoulder and said with a hint of comfort, "Don't think too much, let nature take its course."

Alyssa did not say much and only nodded. "I will wait to go back with you."

Anyway, she had nothing to do if she went back so early.

Sampson called to order an afternoon tea for her and let her have a rest in the lounge next to his office.

Sampson was busy with patients all the afternoon.

Alyssa could only hear him talking with others in a low voice, but she could not hear what they were talking about. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
