“I’m too tired to fight with her every day. It’s okay. I’ll wait for Donald to come back. Hmm? Why isn’t Dylan here, whirring all day, and then he’s not here to enliven the atmosphere today.” I smiled bitterly and stuffed a big piece of cake into my mouth. Hmm, it’s so delicious that I can’t stop eating. An Idea popped into my mind and my eyes brightened.
” Can I take you home? ” I asked her and I saw her laugh.
“Hey, I’m serious. Come on. At least, if you are there, you can help me and talk to me or drink with me.” I suggested but she didn’t pay me any mind.
“Stop joking. What you are thinking is impossible. I have a job here and I’m not your family. Furthermore, you are just boyfriend and girlfriend now, so you have no say. Even though you will beg him, I will still say no because that is just not appropriate. So stop.” She explained, still laughing. I am at a loss. What did she just say? She could just say no but she said a lot of things in a few seconds.
“And speaking of Dylan, don’t mention him. Recently, I saw him go out early and return late. It is estimated that he went to where he worked to hide and work secretly. When I call him out on another day, I will also call you and we will go out together, okay? Cheer up.” She comforted me. I’m always so happy to be with them.
Well, thinking about her career, I know that she worked for it. When I asked about it before, what she told me was that a pastry chef is commonly mistaken for a baker; though some tasks are very similar. Duties include baking and mixing ingredients to be used in pastries, pies, cakes, and cookies. They make sure oven temperatures are set correctly for baking and monitor the color of the baked item to judge if any adjustments may be necessary in temperature, humidity or conveyor equipment speeds.
You need to be innovative, creative, detailed oriented, have an artistic eye, and have the ability to lead. They decorate certain pastries with glazing, icing or other ingredients to make them appealing to the customer. They monitor the measurements, shape and cooking time of baked goods to ensure the success of the product and ensure that they are appealing to the eye. However, the main difference between a pastry chef and baker is what they are responsible for.
The word “chef” is the main difference, it includes management, administrative duties, and leading a team in preparing pastries as well. Therefore they have a Pastry chef who has a greater responsibility in the management and interactions of staff, most of the time with a team of bakers.
Pastry chefs create small quantities and complex desserts. The complexity of these desserts leads them to spend more time decorating and preparing at times. They also work with restaurant chefs to pair desserts with meals being prepared or wines offered each evening. Pastry chefs use recipes or create new ones using their own creativity however, in addition they are still having to maintain records, order food, manage staff, and ensure food safety standards are being met. Most pastry chefs work in fine dining restaurants, bakeries, or bistros. Some even work in hotels and resorts around the country.
They can work long hours and are on their feet most of the day. They work around ovens, stoves, and kitchen machines, therefore it can get very hot during the day. They work in a professional kitchen and are usually assigned a station amongst other members of the kitchen management.
So I could understand her. I am just glad that she pursued what she wanted and that she is happy now. They can spend time with me and cheer me up.
Being with them is like the sun on a rainy day and a rainbow after the storm. They refreshed my mind and helped me take care of some things. They also know me so even though I will not tell them that something is wrong, they will know by just seeing my face.
After tasting the delicious treats and dessert she gave me, I went on my way and wondered what I should do when I arrived at the house.
When I was busy wondering, I saw a grocery shop on my way and a very nice idea came to mind. It was like a light bulb was lit inside. So without thinking much into it, I went inside and proceeded to my favorite aisle.
What is it you say? My secret best friend of course. Alcohol. I went to get my favorite bottle, then some chips and chocolate, then went to the cashier to pay for what I needed.

“God, I… I’m sorry, you know? Maybe it’s my fault. I mean, I never thought she would torture you like that. You know, she’s a little weird. I’m so sorry. It’s hard on you.” When I got home, I didn’t care what Diana was doing. Instead, I drank alone and called Donald to complain.
“Oh, it doesn’t matter. I don’t want to talk about your mother tonight. I want to talk about us. I miss you.” I’m really tired when I get along with his mother. I’m not so tired when I work part-time every day. I’m still a little wronged. I really want Donald to come back. I want him to cheer me up and console me and I just want his presence beside me.
“I miss you too.” He said with a low tone of voice.
“Especially now, I am drinking alone, and I really want to hug you, lie in your arms, feel your generous chest, and I want to take off your clothes.” I shook the little wine left in my cup and fantasized about telling him. I miss his smell, the touch and feeling of his skin against mine. It’s really true that you won’t know what you have until it’s gone. Well, it’s not like that but it’s the same.
“Really? Do you know what I would do if I were there?” From the other side of the phone came his magnetic and eager voice.
“What?” I asked jokingly. I enjoy talking to him like this. It was like his voice was comforting me in a kind of way. How much more if he is here? I could not wait.
“Oh, first of all, the appetizer…” I was already flushed, waiting for his next sentence.
“Linda? Oh, why are you drinking here all by yourself and drinking so much.” Well, I was frightened by the sudden appearance of Diana, and the glass in my hand fell firmly to the ground and broke.
“Hello? What’s the matter with you? What happened?” Donald’s anxious voice rang on the phone.
“Nothing, your mother just came over.” I whispered to Donald.
“It’s so late, don’t drink any more. If it’s bad for your health, go back to bed quickly. Oh, are you talking to Donald on the phone?” Drink to relieve my worries. What’s wrong with my drinking? It doesn’t hinder you. I need your permission to call my boyfriend. I dare not say these words. I can comfort myself by secretly saying them in my heart.
“Yes. Honey, your mother wants to talk to you…” I was speechless. Before I finished speaking, Diana robbed my mobile phone. I felt my heart bleeding. I didn’t have a mobile phone. I felt like she robbed my phone.

“I can’t really thank you both. Of course, I had the best time of my life.” The best time? Why can’t I feel that this good time is based on my pain? Can you still let me live every day safely? With her, I almost became a full resentful housewife.
“How’s Linda?” He asked his mother.
“Oh, she’s a good kid, and we’ve been good friends all week.” She smiled at me but I know that it is not authentic.
“Great, I feel very happy when I think of going home.” I heard the voice on the other end said.
“Oh, you never know what will happen in the future, do you? I really like these neighbors, and in fact, separated by two houses, one is being sold, it has two big windows, and a beautiful rose garden, and I like that garden very, very much. Basically, my name is everywhere, and I let my real estate friends go and see it.” While she was on the phone, she poured herself a glass of wine and enjoyed the call.
