Bound In Secrets : A Death Kings Novel

The Worst Night

**Sawyer**

"What the hell Carmen?" I question my second as the door to my office slams open against the wall. She is out of breath, her clothing is disheveled, and it doesn't look like she brushed her hair. She isn't her normal put-together self, wearing Jeremy's hideous clow lounge pants that are peeking out from underneath one of Cruise's giant tank tops. At least she remembered shoes, even if she didn't bother with a bra. One breast in attempting to escape out of the armhole. "You need to answer your phone," she hisses at me angrily. I looked at my phone, noticing it was dead. What if something had happened to the kids? Luckily, everyone knows they can find me in one of two places, home or here at the club. "What's wrong?" I'm immediately on alert at the sight of her and the fury in her voice.

"One of our police officer friends called me. He found my brother in the forensics lab. He had been shot in the back multiple times. He is in critical care at the hospital." I jump to my feet, my leather chair tipping backward to the ground. Before I can say anything, she holds up her hand to silence me. "Capone's blew up. JT was inside doing paperwork like you are doing now."

I pale at words. Someone is killing us off one by one tonight, and this person isn't done. "Do you know where the other three are?" She shakes her head no.

"Let's get to the hospital first. Have one of your husbands bring me a charger, I'll charge my phone. Hopefully, nothing else happened." I am such an idiot for letting those words leave my lips, because of course the night was turning from good to bad to worse.

"Sawyer, wake up. Please wake up before he comes back." My head hurts and my vision is fuzzy. Why am I hearing Carley's voice? She should be in Texas with her family.

"Is my little Vipey Snipey awake?" That's it! I'm in hell to be hearing that maniac's voice.

"Leave her alone, Derek! She needs medical attention!" Carley demands.

"That's why she is in there with her, Sugar." Razor retorts. At least I learned his real name is Derek. Razor is such a dumb name to go by.

"I can only do so much. She needs to be seen by a doctor," Carley retorts.

"That's not gonna happen. So, you better do your best. Work your pixie magic on her. I'll be needing her ready and raring for what I got planned." He informs her.

He then grips my chin. His handsome fuzzy comes into view. For a man so vile, his face shouldn't look like that. The outside should match the sick, twisted insides of this man. "You are going to break so prettily for me Viper, just like I broke him. all those years ago."

He twists my head so that I see Carter bound in the cage next to me. His sea-foam green hair is crusted over with blood, hiding his eyes. A thick black collar is around his neck, attached by a bull snap to the cage. His ankles and wrists have the same thick leather and a chain wrapped around the bars, securing him to it. Why did my vision have to be clear now? He is naked and covered in weeping open wounds.

"This happens when my pets forget who their master is. If you both behave, I'll let you fuck one another in the future while I watch." I spit in his face. This earns me a slap complete with a blood lip.

"All your other toys are dead. Just like Ma Pixie's. They all went boom and bang." He lets out this satisfied laugh while standing and walking away.

I looked at Carley with tears streaming down her, knowing he was telling the truth. Her husbands are dead. In conclusion, so are my boyfriends. "What happened to C.H.A.O.S., Callisto?"

Carley sniffles. "I left the house to go pick up the kids from my mom and Lydia's. They wanted to babysit for a few hours, and I needed a nap. I got to the end of the block in my SUV when I heard a loud explosion behind me." She choked up, and the tears flowed freely down her cheeks. "I turned around quickly to see whose house it was. It was ours. Arson was with me since he can't stand being cooped up for long anymore now that he can walk again." She wipes her eyes. I hug her close.

"If Sierra was with you, where is he now?"

"Here," Arson raspy from behind Carley. He is being suspended by a hook from the ceiling. "If you could get me off this damn thing, that would be great."

"With Carley and I working together, we should be able to lift you high enough for you to free yourself. Don't count on us catching your heavy ass as you come down, though. I'm not hurting myself." I inform him. He gives a strangled chuckle. He is in a lot of pain.

"Fine by me. I don't want Carley getting hurt, either."

Carley helps me stand, even though I don't need it. It's just a headache. We both position ourselves underneath Arson's feet and push up from a squat to give us more leverage.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

He unhooks his arms and falls toward his face. I would have leaned backward, but hey, I'm not him. He groans. When he lifts his head, I notice his nose discoloring and blood pouring from it.

"Crap! I have nothing I can use as leverage to reset his nose. I'm not strong enough," Carley laments with worry.

"I can reset it." Carley looks at me in shock. "Ryder taught me. Camden would slam his nose into Jaxson and Tee's fists during training. I was curious to learn. I fixed his and Slater's often." I shrug, smiling at the memory of the older men I trained with and consider my older brothers.

Carley and I help Arson sit on the concrete floor. The husband and wife share a look before he nods. "Okay. Fix it," he says, spitting blood from his mouth into the bottom of his dirty gothic t-shirt.

I use my hands and force the crooked bone to pop back into place. He curses, which is not surprising. Once he is done, he looks at me. "What do you know so far?"

I sigh, sitting in front of him and Carley, who he has pulled into his lap. Carter is unconscious and the blood steadily dripping from his body, but there is no way for us to reach him in the cage. She notices where I am looking. "I tried to doctor him, but the cage electrocuted me."

I nod at her. Of course, she would attempt to doctor her twin brother. Their relationship is strained, but Carter has slowly been making strides to repair his relationship with her and her husbands. "What's your assessment?"

"Based on what I can see, it's mostly open knife wounds. And contusions to the head," Carley tells me. "I'm positive he has broken ribs based on the quick coloring." "Has he said anything?"

Tears well in her eyes. "He won't even talk to me or Arson. He said no words at all. He just glares or cries when he is conscious. It's awful. This is much worse than the way he was when Derek kidnapped Ransom."

"Okay, that helps me understand where he is, not only physically, but mentally. The others are going to owe him for this. They still treat him like he is a traitor. I get it. He betrayed them. They betrayed my trust too, but I still let them back into my life." I huff, tired of the other men, except Riggs, keeping Carter at arms-length. Riggs plays video games with him when neither of them can sleep. Riggs is horrible at most games, except fighting games because he presses random buttons like I do.

"Let's circle back to my question," Arson croaks.

"Last I knew, something happened to Storm that Riggs had to go pick him up from the Res. JT's club blew up with him inside. Jensen was shot in the fucking precinct. He is in critical condition. Carmen was with me when our car was hit. I don't know what is going on and hate it!"

"You have control issues like the rest of us," Arson says, giving me that pretty boy smile of his. Carley pops him on the chest with the back of her hand.

I snort. "Well, duh. I am the Viper King. The state of Louisiana belongs to me. Just like half of Texas belongs to C.H.A.O.S. You know how that works, Sierra." "Need help to cull the precinct?"

"If I know Carmen, she already had our people on it before she found me in my office." I smile at him confidently.
