Chapter 44 A member of the Garcia Family
Chapter 44 A member of the Garcia Family
Just this kind of requirement? Becca was speechless. "Then you're miserable, I think you're doing
something wrong every day." Becca rolled her eyes. Kelvin laughed.
Becca looked at his smile and, somehow, she suddenly felt as if the heart missed a beat.
It turned out his smile was so charming, but why couldn't he laugh more often?
"Fine, I promise you." Becca replied.
He was drinking too much anyway, and by the time He woke up and became sober again, he probably
wouldn't remember what had happened.
The good thing was the character of Kelvin after getting drunk was nice, and he also did not do
anything that he should not do. Becca helped him and lay him on the bed, and he was soon asleep.

After a night with sound sleep, Becca went to the company early in the morning. Disturbed by Kelvin
yesterday, her design was almost completed. She had to rush and completed a draft today, and then
she would have enough time for her later preparations.
However, when she just arrived at the door of the company, she met two familiar persons.
John Garcia was driving to send Laura Garcia to work here What a warm goodbye full of love between
a father and a daughter! Ridiculous. Becca stood by, with bitterness in her heart. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Once upon a time, she was the most innocent and lovely daughter of her father, but now, they became
strangers. She did not want to greet them at all.
She bowed her head to the door, but Laura Garcia caught a sharp glance at her, and whispered
something to John Garcia.
"Stop!" John Garcia got out of the car and shouted at her when Becca was about to step in.
Becca paused, but she did not turn back. She just stood still.
"How dare you to turn a blind eye to my presence?" John Garcia pointed at her and scolded.
Becca looked at the passers-by who rushed to work and went out of the door again and stood beside
the door.
"May I help you? I'm in a hurry to work." Becca looked up at him stubbornly.
John Garcia winked at Laura Garcia, and then she smiled, stepping on heels to leave.
"You see what attitude you have! You haven’t been home for a long while, what do you want? You are
an unmarried lady. Do you want others to point their fingers behind our family’s back?" Said John
Garcia, with his hands behind his back, with kind of patriarchal authority.
"Home? Is that my home? Your family is reunited, but I am only the outsider, why should I go back?
Besides, you have kicked me out of the Garcia. Whether I stay outside is none of your business."
Becca did not want to look at him.
"You..." John pointed at her. "Well, I won't argue with you. Since we have met each other today, I’ll tell
you one thing. Laura is a sensible and thoughtful girl. After so much grievance, she never thought to
hate you. She knew that Albert Davis has affection for you, but she still broke off an engagement.
Albert comes to see you several times and I guess he is intended to make up with you.
"Huh." Becca sneered, "So? Do you want me to get together again with Albert? At first Albert and I
were going to get married. I didn’t expect that Laura Garcia should sleep with him! And now you want
me to be with Albert again? Are you kidding?"
"This marriage was originally settled. Besides, you were then so determined to marry him. And am I
doing what you wish?" John said impatiently.
Becca looked up and down at John, suddenly heaving a long sigh and subsequently shaking her head,
"Mr. Garcia, if I guess right, it should be Albert Davis again who refused to invest in your company.
Well, for the sake of that business, you finally remembered me- one of your daughters."
"You are a member of our family, and this is the property that your mother left. Shouldn't you do your
best?" John Garcia shifted his eyes, because what Becca said just now was exactly what he had been
thinking about.
"I do my best to make all of you live a happy and prosperous life and enjoy the estates of the Garcia to
then squeeze me?" Becca taunted a smile, "You have played a good game, but it is a pity I am not a
fool. Asking people for help should have an attitude of asking them. Your self-righteous appearance is
just what Laura Garcia looks like. "
"What do you really want to do? Even if you have a relationship with someone who has a higher social
status, you don’t even provide some assistance for the Garcia, otherwise why would I let you marry
Albert?" John puffed himself up deeply.
"Why should I help your family? Mr. Garcia, do you want me to collect your memories? At the hospital,
who have said to cut off the blood relationship? You're not old enough to forget that?"
"That was something I said in a passion." John noticed the passers-by were watching them, and he
kept his voice down. "What kind of a father in the world can really break off from his children. You don’t
have to take it seriously."
‘Why do I have to take it seriously?’ Becca had a dim expression.
"Sorry, I just took it seriously." She glanced at him without much attention and straightened up. "I'm
going to work, Mr. Garcia, I'm sorry." She had gone into the building without returning her head.
Becca was so disturbed in the early morning, in a sullen mood. She really did not understand what
John Garcia was thinking about. And she was also his daughter, but what did he regard her as?
She was in a relationship with Albert for five years. But when she witnessed Laura slept with Albert,
she was the one who had to give up, because this was what her beloved father required. After all, she
was the daughter of his first wife who had a formal marriage with him. Why would she be subject to
such pointless anger?
She was distracted by such a terrible experience. She was upset because of this for a whole morning.
It’s time for lunch. Janet was excited to tell her that there were dishes with meat in the canteen, holding
her hands to have lunch with the colleagues together.
In these days, Becca was not so familiar with these new colleagues as Janet. But Becca did not know
when Janet had already formed a piece with them. They picked a round table and six people sat down.
Just seated, Becca saw Laura Garcia walking past her, followed by several young male colleagues.
She and those male colleagues chatted and laughed, then sitting near her. Becca couldn't help but roll
her eyes.
‘From childhood to adulthood, Laura was always more attractive to boys and men than her, whenever
and wherever, she was like a little princess, so popular among them.’
Even they had the same father, Laura’s mother-Maria Millers didn’t have so attractive appearance and
figure as Becca’s mother, Joe Bush. But Laura Garcia was taller than her and better than her in
appearance and stature.
And her pretending to be gentle and considerate coaxed men to her full of protective desire.
"How's your progress, Becca? You are the best among us, and it must be nearly finished." Some of the
colleagues cast the subject on to Becca.
"Well?" Becca pulled herself together. "Oh, yeah, not so fast."
"Of course, Becca is so good that she has finished drawing the design." Janet saw Becca so modest
and patted her on the shoulder in much pride.
"Wow, it's so fast. I even haven’t got a clue yet."
"Yeah, this is a competition for outstanding designers. We newcomers don’t follow the crowd, and let's
just finish it as a task."

On this table, everyone was chatting, but no one noticed Laura Garcia at the other side, with anger and
jealousy in her eyes.
