Chapter 465 Why Don't You Run Away
Chapter 465 Why Don't You Run Away
"Well…"
The people outside the hotel had already gotten through the entrance and were walking toward Charles
Mu in a fierce and aggressive manner, but Charles Mu kept calm and explained everything to Linda
Xia. "That necklace was only worth 80 million at most, but he spent 210 million for it…"
"Oh, I see. 210 million is a great amount of money. No wonder he wants to kill you... I guess you
deserve it, "
Linda Xia mockingly scolded Charles Mu while laughing. She thought that he was joking!
Of course. How could anyone in the world dare to hurt Charles Mu!
However, just then, she heard Paul running to Charles Mu and calling out his name. When he got
closer, he said, "Young Master, they are coming! Hurry up, let's get into the elevator!"
"Stop!" A shout echoed throughout the lobby. It came from someone who was running toward Charles This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
and Paul.
It sounded like someone was chasing after them from afar. Linda Xia's heart sank because she felt that
something was actually wrong. Did Charles Mu really get into trouble? "Honey, when you said that
someone is trying to kill you, did you really mean that?" Linda Xia asked anxiously.
"Of course, I wasn't kidding. Honey, I have to go now. I will call you back as soon as I take care of it…"
Charles Mu said gently.
"What are you going to do about it?" asked Linda Xia. Linda Xia understood that even Charles, who
had great power and influence, had nothing against a local gangster, especially since it wasn't his
territory. From their previous calls, Linda Xia had known that the one who had bidden for the necklace
and competed with Charles Mu was a local wealthy businessman. Needless to say, he was the king of
this region.
"Don't worry, honey. I have informed the Mu Security Team, and they will be here in half an hour. You
should go to bed now, my dear. Don't worry about me. I will be fine, " said Charles Mu.
Then, he hung up and went into the elevator with Paul immediately because their enemies were
dashing towards them. As soon as they got into the elevator, Paul pressed the buttons of several floors.
After the elevator door closed, Hanson's underlings and thugs ran straight to the reception desk,
dragged up the receptionist's collar, and asked, "Which floor is that man in?" "And which room?" the
man in the front asked again.
The receptionist had never seen anything like this before. She was terrified, with tears brimming around
her eyes. Frightened by the threat of the thugs, she revealed Charles Mu's room number.
If Charles Mu had known that she had given his room number so easily, she would have instantly been
fired. A staff of the Mu Group shouldn't yield so easily. She should feel lucky that Charles Mu was
already on his way up.
In the elevator, Paul pressed the buttons of the sixth floor, the eighth floor, and the twenty-first floor…
When Charles Mu saw that Paul had pressed almost all of the buttons, he was puzzled. "Paul, what are
you doing?"
"I am pressing the buttons of each floor so that they won't know which floor we are going to be on, "
answered Paul.
"That won't work. We should go to my room directly. Didn't you see that young lady on duty at the
reception desk? They can just compel her to tell them what my room number is. After we've gone
through all the floors in this building, they would already be waiting for us in front of my room. We are
wasting our time here."
Paul agreed with Charles Mu after listening to him. The weak, na?ve lady might be too shocked to call
the building security.
But even if she had called security, they wouldn't be able to defeat dozens of furious men. And they
wouldn't have the guts to displease Hanson by fighting with his minions. After all, he was the boss in
this city.
Paul and Charles Mu stopped by each floor because Paul couldn't undo what he had done on the
elevator buttons; thus, they were wasting lots of time.
When they got out of elevator on the eighteenth floor, as Charles Mu had expected, Hanson's men
were waiting for them by the door of his room. There were only two VIP rooms on this floor, so it took
them no time to find his room.
"Young Master, it is all my fault, " Paul said with guilt, "I should be punished after this."
"It's okay. They can't hurt me. Let's see what they will do, " said Charles Mu.
While they were walking toward the group of men, the leading thug in front of the gang stared at
Charles Mu and Paul with a sinister smile.
He spat to the ground and stomped his foot violently. "Aren't you going to run away?" he asked with
disdain.
Charles Mu didn't answer. He just kept walking toward him in silence.
"Even if you do run away, you can't escape us. I will hunt you down, " the man sneered.
Charles Mu said nothing, yet Paul couldn't stand how such a small man, who was as round as a potato,
was insulting his Young Master. Didn't he know who Charles Mu was?
"Who the hell do you think you are? Fuck off! How dare you, a worthless scumbag, offend us? Do you
even know who we are?" Paul roared. Paul was once a military officer, and now, he was a chief
executive of the group; therefore, his every act and move was dignified, and his speech carried exuded
authority.
Although he was a subordinate of Charles Mu, he played an important role in the Mu Group. Other than
Charles Mu, everyone else in the company looked up to him.
"Your master hasn't said anything, yet. I wasn't even talking to you, loser."
Hanson's subordinate started taunting Paul again.
"Ken, stop talking nonsense with them. Just throw them into the room and lock the door. Mr. Zhuang
will be here soon, and he will decide how to punish them, " said one young man.
The man called Ken was the head of the gang, Hanson's most-trusted subordinate. Smack! Upon
hearing what the young man had said, Ken slapped his face immediately. The young man was
panicked, and his haughty grin quickly faded. He intended to impress Ken by offering some advice, but
he didn't expect that Ken would get angry about it.
"Are you giving me orders? I know how to handle this!" Ken said with rage.
Then, he pointed at those men behind him and said, "Come on, tie them up and throw them into the
room!"
"No need. We can walk ourselves, "
Charles Mu said coldly.
"Walk yourselves? You wish, " Ken smirked.
All the men behind Ken were trying to please him, Hanson's favourite subordinate. As soon as Ken
gave the order, the men behind him drew out ropes from their pockets and was about to tie Charles Mu
and Paul up. At that moment, Charles Mu raised his hand and instantly triggered the Dragon Ring on
his finger.
Just as a man was closing in towards Charles Mu, a black marble ball shot out from the Dragon Ring
and went through the man's leg. He hadn't even gotten close enough to touch Charles Mu.
Then, with a shriek, the man fell down to the ground.
"It hurts! It hurts like hell!" cried the man. The pain on his leg was growing stronger and stronger, and
he didn't even know what had happened. He lay on the ground, groaning in agony.
Ken was shocked. "What's wrong?" he asked.
Why did he suddenly fell down and cried for no reason? What had Charles Mu done to him? Ken was
so confused. The Dragon Ring was a valuable secret weapon developed by the Mu family, so few
people knew about it. Ken didn't know that it was a concealed weapon, and the bullet had shot out so
fast that he didn't even notice it.
"You, go and catch him!" Ken told the other man behind him. Then, he turned to the man lying on the
ground and asked, "What's wrong with you? Why are you crying like a baby? Get up and do your job! I
will kill you if you mess it up!"
