A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO

Chapter 28: She raped me.

Chapter 28: She raped me.

James looked at the congregation and divulged a fake smile. He lifted his elbow towards Amelia and looked at her.

“I’m tired of standing here. Let’s go.”

Amelia moved closer to him and wrapped her arm around his. They walked down the altar and proceeded down the narrow path in front of them.

Amelia kept her head bowed as the people kept throwing flower petals on them.

“Congratulations, Amelia Parker!” She heard someone shout, and she was forced to look up. She looked at the direction where the voice came from and her eyes fell on Ava.

‘Was she the one that greeted me?’ She wondered, when she saw the angry expression she had on as she stared at her.

Different people were taking pictures of them from different angles. James kept his facial expression cold, while Amelia was shy and scared.

They got out of the church gate, and Helen rushed to stand in front of them.

“Let’s take pictures together!” She said to them excitedly.

“Mom, I’m tired, okay?” James mumbled, and she shook her head.

“Tired? Why would you be tired? It’s your wedding day! We should take pictures. You should have couple pictures too. We are going to do that now. It won’t take your time.”

She brushed his hair and giggled. “Everyone! Let’s take pictures!” She announced, and everyone began to gather around them.

Lots of Media guys, camera men and women from both families began to take pictures of them. Amelia couldn’t stop but flinch anytime she heard the shutters of the cameras.

James noticed she was shivering, and he looked at her with the corner of his eyes and scoffed. It finally dawned on him that he got married a child.

After they were done taking pictures, some other people decided to take more pictures, so they diverted their attention from the married couples.

Freddie looked around for Ava and Hudson so that they could take a picture with Amelia and her husband, but he couldn’t find them.

“Ava?” He walked into the church, but she was nowhere to be found.

He saw Hudson sitting on the church chair like he had no idea what was going on outside. Freddie walked up to him and stood next to him.

“Where is your sister? I would like us to take some pictures with Amelia,” He told him excitedly. Hudson lifted his head and looked at him.

“You were so busy with your niece that you didn’t know your daughter had left?” Hudson replied coldly.

“What are you talking about?”

“She left already. She could take it, so she went back home.”

“Why would she do that?” Freddie asked in surprise.

“Maybe because she didn’t want to be here in the first place but you forced her. She told you she loves James and wants to be with him, but you refused. As if that wasn’t enough, you forced her to

attend this wedding. She never wanted to, but she respected you and still came. That is enough.”

“Watch the way you speak to me, Hudson. I needed to do the right thing,” Freddie replied, trying not to raise his voice. There were still few people inside the church building.

“Well, I’m going to do the right thing too. I’m leaving.”

“You’re leaving? You want to act like your sister too?”

“No, I am not acting like my sister. I’m leaving for good. You told me to start looking for a place of my own. I have found a place of my own, and I won’t bother you anymore.”

“Wow, that’s great. Where is it?”

“I don’t want to tell you. Bye, Dad.” Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Hudson walked out on Freddie and walked past everyone, he headed out of the church premises and didn’t look back.

Amelia sighted him leaving, but she dared not ask him where he was going. Shortly, Freddie walked out of the church with a weird expression.

Amelia could guess it was because of Hudson. She wanted to go to him, when Elena stood in front of her.

“Congratulations, girlfriend.”

She opened her arms and wrapped them around Amelia. Amelia let out a warm smile and hugged her too.

“Thank you.”

“I’m so sorry for coming into the church at that moment. I was on my way back from New York. I didn’t want to miss anything, but it’s a shame I still arrived late. I didn’t mean to startle you that way.”

“New York? I never knew you travelled. Since you left angrily that day, I kept knocking on your door but you never responded.”

“Amelia, I’m so sorry about what happened that day. It was my mother calling. We weren’t on good terms, and I got so mad that you intervened. I had to leave Alabama because she wanted me back home. My parents are staying in New York.”

“Oh, you don’t have to be sorry, Elena. I understand. I’m happy you are back now. I haven’t been to that apartment in weeks now. Ma’am Helen has parked all my stuff from there. I’ve been staying with her for some time now.”

“That’s nice. You seem pretty happy about everything. I thought you didn’t want this.”

Elena’s fake smile slowly faded off as she spoke.

“Well, I wasn’t left with a choice. My uncle wanted me to marry him, and I don’t think it’s that bad. I would have to endure. Maybe one day, he’ll love me.”

‘Love you?! Don’t be stupid, Amelia. James can never love you. You are the least person he would ever love.’ Elena thought, while she nodded and grinned.

After James finished talking to Charles about the wedding reception, he looked at Amelia and saw her talking to Elena.

“What is she saying to her?” He muttered, gritting his teeth.

Charles looked at Elena and heaved a sigh.

“Anytime I look at that girl, I see nothing but pure evil. She gives me chills sometimes. Who would know she could rape a man?”

James angrily walked up to the ladies and stood next to Amelia.

“It’s time to go home.”

As he spoke, he kept his eyes on Elena. Shooting her a deadly glare.

“I… I thought we were heading to the reception now.”

“Don’t question me. I told father I have things to do, and I can’t wait for the reception. Let’s go.”

His voice became louder and more aggressive.

“C’mon, James. You are the one busy, not her, okay? Let her have some fun. You can go and attend to your business, and she will meet you at home. She will be bored if she goes with you now, don’t you think?” Elena asked.

The anger in James tripled when he heard her speak.

“How dare you?! Who the hell told you to poke your nose into my business?” He asked in a deadly tone and began to approach her.

Amelia grew so scared and didn’t know what to do, so she just watched. She couldn’t help but wonder why he hated her so much.

“I was just saying. Anyone would see that what you are doing isn’t fair:”

“Shut your filthy mouth, Elena. You have no right to talk about what is fair and what is not fair, okay? You devil.”

Helen finally shifted her attention to them and noticed something was going on. She knitted her brows and hurried to meet James.

She held him by the arm and made him stop walking.

“What are you doing, James? People are watching,” She said in a whisper, and he looked at her.

“I don’t care. I don’t want to see her anywhere around me. It’s quite simple. Get out.”

Helen looked at Elena and sighed. She didn’t know who she was but she knew for James to react like that to her, he didn’t like her at all.

“I’m so sorry, girl. But I think it’s best if you leave. You can discuss this some other place.”

Elena gulped hard and looked at Amelia who just stared at them.

“Can I have your phone number, Amelia? We could talk better on the phone.”

“Yes…”

“No! You wouldn’t give her your phone number. Leave.”

Amelia flinched as James stopped her with a death stare. She bounced her head and moved backward.

Elena scoffed and took one last look at James before walking away.

“You, come with me.”

Helen pulled James into the church building. There was no one in the church at that moment.

“What was that about? Who is that girl? Why would you create such a scene on your wedding day?”

“That girl is someone I don’t want anywhere close to me, Mom. I hate her so much, and I don’t want to ever see her again.”

“Why? What did she do to wrong you?”

“She raped me! That was my former secretary. I never wanted to have anything to do with her because for some reasons, she didn’t entice me at all. She drugged me and slept with me. I hate her.”

Helen’s eyes widened, and she blinked severally in disbelief.

“Why would a woman do that?”

“Who knows? She is crazy. She wants a relationship with me, and I can never give it to her. I have no idea why she was talking to Amelia. She is dangerous.

“Okay, take it easy. Your face is turning red. Come and blow off some steam at the reception. You’d love it.”

“No, Mom. I have work to do.”

“What work? It’s your wedding!”

“You know I didn’t want a wedding in the first place. Stop telling me it’s my wedding.”

Helen sighed and rolled her eyes.

“Son, C’mon. The work can always wait. Everyone knows today is an important day for you. Fine. Spend an hour at the reception and you can head back.”

“Mom…”

“For your Mom, James. I need you to be around when I’m talking to Charles. I would need your support.”

“You are talking to him today?” His eyes widened in excitement.

“Yes, I am. So will you wait now?” She asked, and he let out a loud exhale.

“I don’t have a choice. You know how to make me do what you want. It won’t last forever though,” He mumbled and began to walk away.

“I love you!” Helen chuckled as she followed behind him.
