Chapter 15: What the hell?
Chapter 15: What the hell?
Amelia covered her mouth after she yelled out James' name. It was at that moment she knew she f**ked up.
"Somebody is here." She heard the feminine voice say, and her eyes popped open.
'I can't let them see me.'
Amelia ran out of the restroom, totally forgetting about her ruined makeup. She stood not so far from the restroom and heaved a loud sigh.
'Why would Mr. James have s*x with a lady in a restroom? He could have just gone home, or taken her to a hotel. What if someone sees him?'
"Amelia?" A familiar voice called Amelia out of her thoughts, and she looked up. She saw Mr. Charles Parker standing in front of her. He had a surprised look on his face.
"Mr. Charles, Good evening sir," She responded, divulging a nervous and fake smile.
"What happened to you?" Charles asked, still in awe.
"Nothing. I'm perfectly fine, sir." She gave slight bows as she spoke.
"No, you are not. Have you seen your face in the mirror? You look horrible. Your whole face is blue.'
Amelia's jaw slacked and her eyes dilated after hearing what Charles said to her. She touched her face, and she felt how sticky her face was.
"Oh my God. I forgot to wash it off well. I got distracted. I'm so sorry, Mr. Charles. I'll wash it off as soon as possible."
She ran into the restroom and headed back to the basin where she once stood. She applied some liquid soap on her palms and rubbed it on her sticky face.
She heard one of the doors of the toilet open behind her, and she hastily rinsed the foam off her face. She looked back through the mirror and saw James stepped out of the toilet.
Their eyes met, and she swallowed hard. "Mr. James, I..." She couldn't finish her statement, when she watched the lady walk out of the same toilet he came out from.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
It was Priscilla.
"You!" Amelia screamed in anger, and Priscilla flinched.
"What the hell?! Why did you scream?!" She asked, while James ignored them and walked to the basin to rinse Priscilla's fluid away from his hand.
Amelia turned to look at James in amazement. She didn't know why, but she was hurt. Maybe if it was with someone else, she wouldn't be this hurt.
But, it was with the woman that disgraced her in front of the reporters and even made James call her stupid.
"You told me to stand up against her! You scolded her, didn't you? Why are you sleeping with her?"
James raised his head and looked at angry Amelia through the mirror. He wasn't ready to explain anything to her, because she wasn't worth it.
"Hey, ugly, who he is with is none of your business, okay?" Priscilla responded with an evil grin.
James heaved a sigh and turned to look at the both of them.
"I am not with you. I was bored and wanted to
have some fun. And for you..." His eyes roamed over Amelia's body, from head to toe.
"We have people we need to greet. Don't disgrace my company and act intelligent."
Priscilla headed to the basin to wash her hand, while James headed out of the restroom.
'I thought we had a mutual enemy. He was pissed with her some hours ago, and now he is sleeping with her? She would never take me seriously. She would keep bullying me, now she has slept with my boss. Why couldn't he do it with someone else? Why her?!'
Tears gathered in Amelia's eyes in no time. She felt betrayed. She took one last look at Priscilla
before storming out of the restroom.
'Today is one of my worst days ever.'
"Why are you coming out of the ladies restroom, James?" Charles asked James when he saw him walk out of the restroom.
James heaved a sigh and looked at his father.
"I must have missed it. I was too pressed to notice. Why are you here, Dad? You didn't tell me you'll be coming."
"Do I have to tell you everything? Have you
forgotten I am a partner with this company? They can't do without inviting me to every event."
"That is true. I'm sorry it slipped my mind."
Charles narrowed his gaze at James and trailed his eyes all over him. "Tell me this isn't what I'm thinking."
"What?" James asked, acting like he didn't understand what his father was talking about.
"Your zip is open, James. Your tie isn't prolly knotted. The last time you were looking this rough, it was when I caught you sleeping with a lady in your office. Did you sleep with a lady in the restroom?" Charles looked at him in disbelief.
"Dad, can you lower your voice? There are people around." James looked around and quickly zipped up his pants. He didn't forget to adjust his tie too.
"When will you stop all these, James? You are not a child anymore! You should have a wife now, not sleeping with different kinds of girls. How many times do I have to tell you this?"
"Please, don't start, father. I was bored and needed to clear my head. That's all. No big deal."
He picked up a cup of wine from the server that passed and took a sip.
"You need to stop all these. These ladies are just after your money. That's all they want, and you are too stupid to keep giving them for something you can get easily from your wife, if you had one!"
Charles poked James' chest as he spoke, and Amelia who was searching the whole hall for James, finally saw him. She walked up to them, and Charles happened to see her first.
"Now you look better. How did you get so much paint on your face before?" Charles instantly eradicated the vexed look he had and wore a smiley face.
Amelia looked at James and quickly looked away when he turned to look at her.
"I forgot that my makeup was ruined. I promise it won't happen again." She bowed, and Charles smiled.
He looked at James and then at her again. He then remembered she had come out of the restroom, looking rough too.
"Oh gracious heavens. James, was it with her? Freddie's daughter?" He looked extremely shocked.
"What?! No!" They both chorused loudly, pulling the attention of other guests to themselves.
James cleared his throat and held the hem of his suit and adjusted it.
"Dad, can't you at least rate me a little? Why would I sleep with someone like her? I don't sleep with girls like this," He boasted.
Amelia gulped and lowered her head. She fiddled with her fingers in shame. She wanted the earth to open up and swallow her up.
"Is that something you should be proud about? At least she isn't like the other sluts you go around with. She is way decent and educated. Don't mind him, Amelia."
Charles smiled and placed his hand on Amelia's shoulder. She raised her head and beamed feebly.
"Thank you, Mr. Charles."
"I need to go now. I have other people I need to say Hi to. And James, we aren't done yet. I won't let you do this to yourself."
Charles shot him a deadly look and walked away.
James rolled his eyes and took another sip from his glass. He looked at Amelia disgustingly and looked away again.
"You should be grateful I didn't see that makeup on your face."
Amelia raised her head and stole a glance at him when he spoke. She exhaled softly and bit her lower lip. She regretted applying the makeup in the first place.
"And your dress. At least you tried. You won't be disgracing my company tonight."
Amelia smiled faintly and looked up. She saw Priscilla approaching them, and she slowly clenched her fists in anger.
'What does she want again?' She thought.
"Hey, James. Have you checked your phone?
Gosh, this girl is such a disgrace to your company. You should fire her already. You have never been a laughing stock until today."
Priscilla sassily folded her arms under her breasts and stared at Amelia evilly.
"What are you talking about?" James asked, and he hurriedly pulled out his phone from his breast pocket. He unlocked it and saw a trending news on his screen.
He clicked on it and to his greatest surprise, the first thing he saw was Amelia's picture with a headline which said,
"I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE WORKS FOR JAMES PARKER. SHE LOOKS HORRIBLE!"
"What the hell?!"
Amelia flinched as he smacked. People looked at them for the second time again. This time, they began to murmur.
He grabbed Amelia by the hand and began to roughly pull her away from the congregation. Amelia held up her gown as it kept getting in between her legs.
Her pulses raced like a train, and she began to sweat profusely. She was so scared.
'What is he going to do to me this time?'
