CHAPTER 151
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 21
Harriette’s POV
Even after I’d left the hospital, I couldn’t stop thinking about the painting that Commander Mika showed me. It triggered a lot of questions in me but one thing was known.
It wasn’t me who painted whatever that shit was. Someone must be messing around. If it was really Mother who was in that painting, then someone else was here who knew who I was. Maybe I should ask Ella about this painting.
“I don’t remember painting this, I had told Mika.
“Then, who did?” She inquired.
I shrugged. How was I supposed to know what? “I don’t know but that isn’t mine.”
I argued.
She let out an exasperated sign. “Fine. This isn’t yours. I must’ve lost my mind to think it was yours,”
I shrugged again. I didn’t want to say I agreed with her claim but if she said it, who was I not to secretly agree?
“Let’s do it again tomorrow,” she suddenly suggested.
“Do what? Painting?” I asked in disbelief.
“Yes,” she said firmly.
“Okay, I agreed quickly.
I agreed to paint with her again tomorrow for only one reason. I wouldn’t be here by tomorrow not to talk of doing this again with her tomorrow.
“You can’t have a blank canvas tomorrow. You have to draw something,”
She said.
“Yes, Commander Mika,”
She opened the door, turned to me, and said. “Get enough rest,”
I gave her a small smile. “I will,”
As soon as she walked out, I also left after her. I went straight to the room I shared with Ella and searched for my knife. I saw it lying between books in a drawer.
Ella must’ve kept it there. Instead of doing any other thing. I waited till nighttime. Ella came into the room right after eight at night. She didn’t say a word to me but she took a shower and slept, turning her back to me. NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
She was probably still mad at me because I didn’t tell her what my mission was.
I wanted to wake her up and tell her it wasn’t the time to sleep. She needed to be ready for us to leave but on second thought, she could be tired from her kitchen duties, so instead. I let her be.
By the time it was past eleven at night, I left the room. Judging from past activity, I knew Rowan would soon be heading to the Alpha’s building after running around the pack in his wolf form. Once I made sure no one was around, I climbed through the wall at the back of the Alpha’s building and went in through the window.
I was super grateful it was a sliding window, not the traditional window type we used back in our pack.
As I jumped into Rowan’s room, I was engulfed with his scent. It messed with my head for a while until I pushed it away to the back of my head.
It was crazily unbelievable how someone could go their entire life not perceiving scent from any werewolf and all of a sudden.

perceive one and almost go crazy.
I managed to hide myself behind one of those walls and waited.
The door soon opened and he walked in. He didn’t look around the room or anything, he just walked into another room and left the door wide open.
Out of nowhere, he began peeling his clothes off his body. I swallowed hard as I got a glimpse of his glistening skin. I quickly looked away as my heart raced.
It was hard to watch the scene without feeling funny between my legs.
I turned to look back in his direction when I heard the shower running.
“It’s time, Harriette,” I mumbled.
Since the door of the room was opened, it was easier for me to walk through without calling his attention. His back was turned to me in the shower, so I sneaked towards him.
I hadn’t brought out my knife yet because for now, the shower curtain would suffice perfectly.
I twisted the shower curtain in my hand, ready to attack.
“You know it would be really stupid of you to think you can sneak into my house and I wouldn’t notice,”
Rowan said out of nowhere.
The world beneath my feet shook. I froze for about three seconds before I snapped back to my senses. I lunged towards him all of a sudden and jumped on his back. I successfully wrapped the curtain around his neck.
Before I could tighten it, Rowan grabbed me from behind and slammed my body into the floor.
Water poured over me. He removed the curtain from his neck and stared down at me.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, Harriette?” He hissed.
I didn’t know what to say. I wasn’t supposed to tell him I was about to kill him. Was I?
“Paying you back in your own coin. You tried to kill me yesterday,” I spat. Thank goodness for my survival skills lessons.
I almost got caught.
“I just wanted to prank you a little,” I added, breathing heavily.
When I turned to look at him. He was still looking at me intensely and crazy enough, he was still naked.
“Whatever happened yesterday was between you and my wolf. Not me, understood? But that doesn’t stop me from apologizing. I’m sorry!”
I swallowed hard before nodded. He moved away from me and my eyes fell to the monster in between his legs.
I swallowed hard again. I wanted to take my eyes off it but I couldn’t. I felt an unusual sensation between my legs. By the time my eyes went to him again, he was staring at me with a smirk.
“Get out of my apartment, Harriette,”
I nodded nervously, I just made a joke out of myself. I was drenched, and I failed too.
Why did Mother even trust me with such an important mission?
In disgrace, I walked out of his room. Before I could open the main door and leave, Rowan grabbed my hand, stopping me. “Wait!” He said.
I turned back to him. He stared at me from head to toe with a deep, intense stare in his eyes. “You should change your clothes before you…” his lips moved but that was the last thing I heard. His body, his voice, and his touch ignited something in me.
Like a moth to a flame, I was attracted to Rowan so much that I couldn’t stop it.

Out of impulse, I moved towards him. He stared at me.
I stood on my toes, threw my arms around his neck, and slammed my lips against his.
