Chapter 1087
As the villagers strolled by, they remarked, "Lucky you came on a Monday; there's still parking. On a weekend, you'd be stuck in traffic for at least half an hour."
Little Henry stood there, not saying a word. He toddled to the edge of the flower field and picked a bloom with his tiny hands, then happily ran over to give it to his mom.
"What about your aunt?"
Off he went again, picking another flower for his aunt. With his small hands only able to hold so much, Henry made several trips back and forth. The third bloom was for his grandpa, who was over the moon, convinced he had the best grandson in the world.
"Sweetheart, there are so many flowers here. Keep an eye on our little rascal. Look, you can barely see him over there. If he decides to play hide and seek, we'll be in for an adventure.
Andre glanced over at their little guy and chuckled. Among the flowers, you could barely spot the top of his head. He bent down and scooped up his short-legged son.
The beauty of having fewer people around was having the endless sea of flowers all to themselves. They took sister snaps, couple shots, family portraits, and individual pics... Before they knew it, Andre's camera was packed with over two thousand photos.
Every now and then, Mia would pretend to be a fairy, and Molly would strike a serene pose, hand in hand among the flowers.
After the photoshoot, Chad quickly handed Molly a coat, worrying she'd catch a chill.
Molly playfully pushed it away, "Chad, take off your jacket. Just wear your white shirt, and let's take a couple's picture!"
Typically, Andre's photography skills were nothing special, but when his wife held their son, showing she was both married and a mom, his skills suddenly improved leaps and bounds.
Andre draped his coat over his wife's shoulders.
Mia looked puzzled, but Andre explained, "It makes the picture look better. I'm in a black coat, our son's got black pants. You're in a white dress, and our son's in a white shirt. It's a perfect match."
Mia, buying into his logic, nodded, "Alright."
With the men's coat draped over her, she kissed her son's cheek. Henry was happily playing with a dandelion in his hand.noveldrama
Just then, a big excavator rumbled by on the road. Instantly, Henry's attention was captured...
As dusk settled in, they headed home.
Molly stepped out of the car, wrapped in her husband's coat.
They'd left with six people, but only three returned.
"Where's everyone else?" Bruce asked, worried about his little one.
Molly replied, "They went to buy toys."
"What? We have so many toys, they're spilling out of the house! And they're buying more?" Naomi exclaimed.
Molly shrugged, "Yeah, but we don't have an excavator, do we?"
The peaceful photo session had turned chaotic when the excavator showed up. Henry was off, chasing after it, and there was no bringing him back.
So, the family spent half an hour watching the excavator with their little enthusiast. Henry, cradled in his dad's arms, was glued to the sight until they headed back. The ride home was full of his little whimpers and cries. With Chad driving and Andre trying to calm him, Mia eventually got out midway to buy him an excavator toy. The trio didn't make it home until eight, with Henry clutching a bright yellow toy, his lashes still wet from tears. He wasn't interested in the TV anymore. Out in the garden, under the glow of the pathway lights, he grabbed a tiny spade and began digging around his grandpa's plants.
"Hey, champ, don't dig there; those are worth a lot," Hansen found himself in the garden, once again keeping an eye on his cherished grandson, making sure nothing happened to his prized plants.
The excavator became Henry's new
obsession, something he insisted on cuddling with every night. Each evening, as he drifted off, Mia would carefully pry the toy from his little arms, holding her breath so as not to wake him.
