Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival

Chapter 117

Chapter 117

Third–Person Pov

Marlene’s car glided into the apartment complex, and as she parked in the lot, her mind chumed with

a mix of emotions. This was the moment she had been waiting for, the confrontation she had sought

with the woman who had dared to cross the line with her repeatedly.

After she had asked her mother to look into Angela, her mother finally got back to her with loads of

information, but only one of them initially stood out to her.

The revelation that her rival, Angela Montez, had upgraded to a grander apartment following the

explosive confrontation she had with them after she had caught them together, ignited a spark of fury

in Marlene.

With her mind made up. Marlene made her way to Angela’s apartment. As she stepped out of the elevator

onto Angela’s floor, she straightened her shoulder and prepared her mind.

Standing in front of the apartment door, Marlene’s hand hovered over the doorbell, a palpable tension

pulsing through her veins. With a decisive press, the piercing chime echoed through the corridor.

Minutes passed until the door swung open, revealing Angela standing before Marlene with a smirk.

dancing on her lips. The sight of her rival’s insolent demeanor sparked a flame of fury in Marlene,

her jaw set in a rigid line of annoyance.

Angela’s smirk faltered for a split second, her surprise was palpable as Marlene pushed her way past her. “How dare you barge into my house like this?” Angela’s voice carried a note of outrage, her eyes

ablaze with anger and irritation.

Marlene scoffed. “I have every right to barge into the apartment that my husband paid for, Angela. Don’t you think so?” she retorted, her words sharp.

“You have no right to be here, Marlene. This is my house, and you’re not welcome here,” she

countered. The last thing she wanted was to deal with Kayden’s bratty wife, so she hoped Marlene

would disappear soon.

Marlene’s gaze bore into Angela’s, with hatred gleaming in the depths of her eyes. “Your home? You’r nothing but a homewrecking bitch, Angela. Don’t pretend like you have any claim to anything in this

place,” she spat, the venom of her words cutting through the already evident tension.

“Alright then, what do you want from me, Marlene? Are you here to vent? Is that it?” she asked, her voice tinged with a note of trepidation.

Marlene’s lips curled into a sneer, the bitterness of her emotions rising. “For starters, I want you

to wipe that smirk off your face and show some humility, Angela. Don’t think of disrespecting me just because you’re sleeping with my husband.“”

Angela’s arms crossed defiantly over her chest as she regarded Marlene with cool indifference, her gaze unwavering in the face of Marlene’s seething anger.

“If what you’re so afraid of is that I’ll take Kayden from you

and marry him, Marlene, rest assured that I have no interest in marrying a man like him. Only fools like you and your sister would make such a foolish decision,” Angela said with a hint of condescension.

Marlene’s jaw clenched, her eyes flashing with a mixture of fury and disbelief at Angela’s dismissive words. “Don’t play games with me, Angela. I know what you are,” she retorted, the bitterness of her tone a mirror to the emotions roiling in her.

Angela’s lips curled into a smile, a mocking glint in her eyes. “Oh, Marlene, you’re so easy to rile up. It’s almost comical,” she taunted, her voice dripping with derision. “But anyway, the point I’m trying to make is that I’m just a secretary who lets her boss warm her bed. That’s all. Nothing more,” she added.

Marlene scoffed the contempt in her expression a stark contrast to the icy facade Angela maintained. “If you think you can upset me even more, Angela, you’re sorely mistaken. I didn’t come here to play the role of a bitter and jealous wife,” she shot back. “As much as I want to teach you a lesson, you’re not my primary concern right now.”

Angela’s brow furrowed in confusion, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her features. “What do you mean Marlene? What is it that you want from me then?” she inquired, a note of wariness creeping into her voice.

Marlene’s lips curled into a faint smile, a dangerous glint dancing in her eyes. “I’ve heard about

your efficiency. Angela. I’ve been told that you were the one who planted the drugs on Raymond Romer at Kayden’s request, she began.

Angela’s arms remained folded across her chest, her expression Impassive. “Cut to the chase.

Marlene,” she demanded, a hint of impatience edging her tone.

Marlene’s gaze locked on Angela’s as she responded. “I want us to work together, Angela. To take down

the person who I consider my top priority,” she stated. “I want to put a hit on my sister, and I want

you to make it happen.” Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

The tension in the room reached a fever pitch as Angela’s eyes widened in shock at Marlene’s chilling proposal. “Are you crazy, Marlene? What in the world are you thinking, asking me to kill your sister with you?”

Marlene’s laughter rang out–a cold, humorless sound that showed her seriousness. “I’m not asking for your help, Angela. I’m demanding it.” Marlene’s voice held a steely edge, her eyes flashing with a dangerous glint. “After all, you’ve proven yourself more than capable of heinous acts, like tampering with my pregnancy and killing my unborn child.”

Angela’s scoff cut through the charged atmosphere, her eyes rolling in a dismissive gesture. “You’re out of your mind, Marlene. Leave me out of your nonsense. I refuse to be a part of it.”

Marlene’s smile turned wicked, a calculated glint in her eyes as her hands moved with deliberate purpose. Without warning, she delved into her purse, withdrawing a gun and pointing it squarely at Angela.

“If you refuse to help me, Angela, you’ll become my top priority, and right here, right now, I’l make you pay for killing my baby. Marlene’s voice was cold and unwavering, the promise of retribution etched in every syllable.

Angela’s lips curled into a mocking smile, a dark amusement flickering in her eyes. “Go ahead, little girl. Pull the trigger. I dare you!” She responded.

Marlene’s smile widened as her finger tightened on the trigger, the metallic click echoing in the tense silence of the room, and before Angela knew what was happening, the gun went off.
